UN surveys ecological ravages of tsunami
Posted 1/6/05While the human injuries and death toll from the Asian tsunami are still being counted, experts are beginning to take stock of the injuries suffered by the environment.
Reaching and helping survivors clearly remains the top priority for aid agencies after the catastrophic waves of 26 December. But environmentalists say that rescuing the ravaged coral reefs and mangrove swamps will also be vital for rebuilding coastal communities. Read more here.
